How do I get the new dog to stop jumping on my 3yr old. He is a smaller dog and she has mostly been around her uncles well trained bigger dogs. She is comfortable with dogs but this new dog is now in our home and has a bit too much energy for her. My oldest is 10 and i think she will do fine with him and his energy.
Really good stuff here. Better than most YouTube doggo trainers
This is perfect! I’ve studied canine behavior and behavior modification for many years, and this is what I do when bringing home a new kid. I have a a peaceful home and that first week or so with an adult working dog that spent it’s life on a chain/in the backyard is absolute chaos. I just got another one, and a week and a half later he is following the house rules including parking his butt for his meals. (That was not easy to teach, because he can reach as high as I can!) I encourage you to stick with it if you’re having a rough time with your new dog, and if this is not where you started it’s not too late — just go for it! What this video covers is the foundation of all other training.
